The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department's photo submission of the
Palm Beach Coralytes Synchronized Swim Team at Aqua Crest Pool was awarded
second place in a nationwide magazine cover contest hosted by the National
Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA). The photo, taken by Coralytes team
member Rebecca Rojas, was the only finalist from Florida and one of only 12
across the nation.
Voters made their choice by liking the photo on NRPA's
Facebook page. The Coralytes photo received more than 2,000 likes and was shared
more than 275 times during the five-day contest. It is featured on page 2 of the
July Parks &
Recreation magazine. It was a narrow race right to the end and every vote
made a difference. Thank you to all who helped.
