Animal Care and Control Urgently Searching for Owner of Chihuahua in Pain

Body

Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control (ACC) is urgently looking for the owner of a Chihuahua that was brought to the shelter today, March 19.

A Good Samaritan brought in the approximately 2-year-old, tan, male Chihuahua to ACC this morning. He had been found last night walking on Westchester Drive in West Palm Beach. The dog appears to have recently had surgery as he was found wearing a blue recovery jacket and a patch on his skin stating that it should not be removed. Though the person who found him said he appeared fine last night, they said when he woke up this morning he began screaming in pain. This was the case as well when he arrived at ACC.

ACC is looking for information regarding the dog's owner to find out his medical history, what kind of surgery was done or if he requires any medication. ACC wants to return the dog to his family as soon as possible, so he can continue his recovery safely.

Currently, the dog is stable and being monitored. Additionally, he is being given medication to manage his pain, however without a medical history no more can be done to help him.

Anyone who believes this is their dog, can contact ACC Dispatch at 561-233-1200. Proof of ownership such as photos or an invoice from the veterinarian will be required to redeem the pet.

Photos of the dog can be found here: https://pbcclouddrive.pbcgov.org/invitations?share=58f4337fbb652a1c12ba

PBCACC is located at 7100 Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach, just west of the Florida Turnpike. For more information, please call (561) 233-1200 or visit www.pbcgov.com/animal
