Some of the plants for sale by the Guild at the Garden Shop at the Mounts
The Mounts Botanical Garden is now offering hard-to-find plants for sale to visitors at the Garden Shop at Mounts. Unique potted plants such as succulents, herbs, flowers, and shrubs and trees can be purchased.
The plants are grown in the botanical garden by the volunteers of the Mounts Botanical Garden Guild. Most of the Guild members are Palm Beach County Master Gardener volunteers. The volunteers provide the expertise, and the garden staff provides the soil, growing area, irrigation, fertilizer, parent plant materials for propagation, and guidance for Guild volunteers.
Plants available include fernleaf lavender, flowering brunfelsia, rainbow eucalyptus, and several succulents and cactus varieties planted in beautiful decorated pots. The Mounts Botanical Garden Guild also conducts a plant sale in the nursery each Monday and Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m.
For researched-based information on South Florida gardening from the University of Florida, call the Palm Beach County Cooperative Extension Service Master Gardener volunteers weekdays at 233-1750.
The Mounts Botanical Garden is open for visitors Monday-Saturday Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. The Garden Shop at the Mounts is open Thursday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. The bookstore is open Thursday through Sunday only. Mounts is located at 531 North Military Trail, West Palm Beach.
